R2-KT Refurbishment

The original screen-used charity droid, R2-KT was in dire need of repair after 16 years of service to the community,

I completed a 3 year refurbishing project, in which she was fully redesigned and repaired, inside and out for her owner, 501st Legion founder, Albin Johnson.

The droid was stripped to the bones, with all original paint and powder coat was removed. New paint and powder coat applied, matched to the original.

Many interfacing parts were redesigned to accommodate her 20 year old prototype frame. These installed components are now designed to be easily removable during service without damaging the droid. The frame was also modified to provide better structural rigidity.

Parts stripped down and disassembled to repair damage and refinish. Parts assembled in more repairable way for future service.
